personality ;; Loyal (almost to a fault), Trustworthy, aggressive if on his bad side, demands alot from the people who he works for and those that work for him, caring though he hides it most of the time.Supportive of colleagues, and very intuitive. Doesn't like to share his past. He can be very charming but has a very dry sense of humor. He is taken by redheads, he has always had a facination with them. He is an avid coffee drinker and doesn't appreciate when people mess with it. He has a close relationship with those on his team each in their own way. For the most part he treats them like children, and protects them from harm. The only one he doesn't treat like his child is Ducky for obvious reasons but they have a long standing relationship.
history ;; Gibbs was a Gunnery Sargeant for the Marines, during the war with Kuwait. He met and married Shannon before he shipped off. He had a daughter Kelly who later died in a car crash that claimed the life of Shannon as well. When he was overseas he met up with Jennifer Shepard and had to work a bit with her. He eventually came to the realization he cared for Jenny, much like he had with Shannon and he had already had 2 ex wives that didn't seem to fit with him. He never fully commited to Jenny Shepard and later married Stephanie Flynn who he ended up divorcing a year later.
During his service in the USMC, Gibbs earned a Purple Heart for a head wound suffered during Desert Storm. Gibbs' awards include Silver star, Purple Heart, Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon, United Nations Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait), and Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia).
He also served in Jacksonville as a Military Police Officer.His only child and his first wife were killed in a car wreck after witnessing a murder with the Mexican Drug Cartel. Before he joined NCIS he was in a 19 day Coma as a result of an explosion during Desert Storm. He went through another explosion when a bomb went off and he had selective Amnesia for a while, but has since recovered. It was Mike Franks who brought him to NCIS back when it was NIS. He worked his way up from Probie to the position he know holds. It is evident that it takes him years to get there. He is said to have been with NCIS for 16 years.

Gibbs had heard from Ducky that Jeanne Benoit was a victim in the latest case. He furrowed his brow as he had the MTAC feed call to Jennifer Shepard. He didn't know anything on the case yet but he wanted to give her a heads up that this was going to be headed her way eventually. He put his headgear on as the feed began coming in little grains. He didn't lock the door to MTAC it was self locking these days and one could only open it from the inside.
He waited for the feed to come in as he waited for Sec Nav, great this was going to be enough fun for all of those involved. He secretly figured that Jenny had killed La Grenouille a few years back and since tony had fallen for Jeanne and forced to chase her away, he knew this was going to be difficult on the team leader but that wasn't what was on his mind. He was there to let Jenny know what was going on and keep her in the loop, because if she found out some other way, he knew it would be his head.
He watched the fuzz on the screen for a while it was kind of calming and peaceful, he knew that this conversation would not be and so wasn't about to beat around the bush on this one, he wasn't that type anyway, though with Jenny things were a bit different, ever since their affair in Europe, things hadn't always been the same between them and he knew that too. He tucked that out of his mind at the moment.
